Enjoyed your website. Hope to make it over to MN for a visit. I enjoy hunting with our traditional squirrel dogs, Treeing (aka Mountain) Feist, and think there is a place for them in living history programs. Below is the link to my website: http://squackerjack.tripod.com/

Thank you for making the White Oak Sled Dog Classic such a fun, educational, and unique experience. Your organization and efforts to link the past with the present made my drive worth it. Some of the fun of racing sled dogs for me is the new places and new faces. You set yourselves apart. From the memorial traps in our sled bags, to the historic clothing, and the charm necklaces, all of your hard work was greatly appreciated. Also, to the photographers and volunteers and everyone involved that made it special, a big thank you! See you in the future, for an experience set in the past!! Thank you!!

This fall 2007 we enjoyed our first Rendezvous experience! Though preparations were exhausting (I'm a history major at Concordia, St. Paul and a perfectionist when it comes to authenticity), it was well worth every drop of sweat (literally) that went into preparing for the Rendezvous and being a part of it. We brought two home-schooled kids that absolutely enjoyed the experience too, and are still talking about it! Plans for this next summer are still up in the air, but be assured that we will be back again! Thanks to all who made us feel welcome and a part of the community at White Oak. We hope to get to know you more! Sarah, Caleb, Kaitlyn and David.

Dear friends, after we had visited the US and Canada for the first time some 15 years ago, we came back many times, rented a motorhome and drove around between New Foundland-New Mexico-California and up to the Northern Territories. And we havn´t got enough yet! But on our trips we became very mutch interessted about the History and Indian Bands,Explorer,Pioneers,Gold Rush or the Fur Trade with all its names like David Thompson, Mackenzie and all the others. And we followed already many of their foot prints. So by comming across your web-site its a pleasure for us to sign your Guestbook. Since we havn´t walked yet the Savanna Portage there is still one mor reason for us, to pack up our gear once more in the future. Thanks for your site for its full of information. Have a good time! Hi, All; Came to visit, and set up camp for the first time. I was the story teller, and face-painter, and we sold the boxes. Many thanks for the good treatment we got, and we met so many new and wonderful friends, that if God willin', n the creek don' rise, we'll be back next year. One additional comment; all of the children that came to visit were on their best behavior, and I'm very impressed with the folks that brought them. Kids aren't made perfect, but all that we met were soooooo good! Kudos to both parents and teachers! Loved our stay there......SunRays

Our family was vacationing at Shady Shore and kept passing the White Oak Facility and seeing the signs for the weekend event. We had no idea what it was but decided to venture on in and see what it was all about. What a pleasant experience! It was great and since we vacation the same time every year, we will be back.

Thank you to everyone who helped in the many, many ways that made our 19th Annual Rendezvous such a wonderful event! We met many new participants and visitors that offered congratulations on an event so well put together and enjoyable. It takes many people to make this come true. We thank you all so very much.

I'm writing this from a place in Kuwait after having been in Iraq for over 13 months. I have been to the White Oak doin's several times and before being deployed it was my annual event. I love this event and miss the many people I know. I certainly look forward to hopfully going this year when I get back. Look at this site reminds me of good times and pleasent memories rather than the sand and heat among others things here. Thanks for everything you all do and keep up the good work. David,
